If breathtakingly beautiful landscapes and off-beat destinations pep up your mood but if budget constraints shrink your soaring spirits, then this write-up is for you. Because, hey come on, no one can ever make us deprived of our right to travel-Not even money! So here we are with the list of some very cool (literally) treks for the winters and that too within a budget of Rs. 5000.
The trekkers have chartered this trail many times because this trek has unfailingly given us many different reasons to cover the wide well-marked trail. Triund provides the best vantage point for Dhauladhar gazing and Kangra Valley. This is also true for winters when it isn’t uncommon to have the meadow entirely by yourself. Stargazing on a chilly night is one of the best reasons to visit Triund during winters.
The trail, which starts from Mcleodganj, passes over the impressive snowbound Dhauladhar range and ends at Chamba. You will pass through the beautiful dense forests of Deodar and Rhododendron. While trailing this trek, you will also come across an ancient trail of Gaddi Shepherds who uses this trek to take their flock to summer grazing meadows in the upper Ravi Valley and Lahaul. Initially, this trek begins with a steady climb through the Himalayan region and turns into a steep climb. You will experience walking through rich wildlife areas and witness wild goats, leopard and Monal bird.
This trekking starting from Barsheni is a real stress buster. Kheerganga is a tableland surrounded by thick forests of alpine meadows. Surreal sights, beautiful hamlets, lovely people and the vibes set the mood in trance. Lofty clouds enveloping the valley and snow clad mountains, and melody of Parvati river leave you intoxicated.
A much curvier and a steeper, 3 kms ahead of Triund, Laka Glacier is a temporary shepherd encampment. Laka Got, at 10,500 feet, is situated at the snout of a small Laka glacier and while traversing through this route;one will come across some beautiful vistas of snow-covered mountains. Covering this curvaceous trek will be an intimidating as well as an adventurous experience.
