In the morning, sharp at 10:00 AM, we will commence the trek to Lamadugh. The steep trail will cross thick forests of deodar and pine. Do not forget to carry enough water bottles and a packed lunch, as there is no water source between Manali and Lamadugh, which is five hours away. The trail offers a magnificent glimpse of Manali, located on the left bank of River Beas. The entire upper Kullu valley with its vibrant colors is clearly visible en route.
As you go higher, you will witness the breath-taking views of the different faces of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and Bara Shigri glacier. There are several vantage points that offer panoramic views of Manali and the surrounding areas. The last leg of the path turns to the right and you need to traverse the ridge horizontally, to enter Lamadugh. It is a deserted alpine plateau, untouched except for a small hut and a thick growth of alpine flowers. After spending some time exploring the area, start making your way down to Manali post lunch. Your trek will end when you reach Manali by 6:00 PM in the evening. Overnight stay will be provided at a hotel in Manali.
