Route: Via Jageshwar Dham

  • Your journey to the sacred land begins with a scenic drive from Kathgodam to Pithoragarh. The route passes through charming Himalayan towns and dense pine forests. En route, take a short break at Jageshwar Dham, an ancient temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
  • Arrive in Pithoragarh by evening and check into your hotel. The picturesque valley, often called “Mini Kashmir,” offers a relaxing atmosphere before the adventure ahead.

Overnight stay: Pithoragarh

Altitudes:

  • Gunji/Nabi – 3,200 m / 10,500 ft
Distance: 170 km | Drive Time: 7–8 hrs
  • After an early breakfast, continue your drive towards Gunji or Nabi village. On the way, stop at Dharchula — a border town on the banks of the Kali River. Here you’ll complete your inner-line permit formalities, as this region lies close to the Indo-Nepal border.
  • The road gradually winds upward through dense forests and traditional Himalayan villages. By evening, you’ll reach Gunji or Nabi — small, peaceful settlements surrounded by majestic peaks.

Overnight stay: Gunji/Nabi

Altitude (Nabidhang): 4,300 m / 14,100 ft
Distance: 25 km one way | Drive Time: 2–3 hrs (each side)

  • Today, you’ll take a breathtaking drive to Nabidhang, a viewpoint famous for its striking sight of “Om Parvat” — where the natural snow pattern resembles the sacred ‘Om’ symbol. The journey may take a little longer due to rough terrain, but the view is worth every bump on the road.
  • After spending some time soaking in the divine beauty and capturing memories, drive back to Gunji/Nabi for the night.

  • A short 1 km trek from Jolingkong takes you to Parvati Kund, a serene high-altitude lake where trekkers often perform a holy dip. From there, you can trek another 2 km to Gauri Kund, believed to be the sacred bathing place of Goddess Parvati.
  • You may also visit Bheem ki Kheti, a legendary site associated with the Pandavas. Later, return to Gunji/Nabi by evening.

Overnight stay: Gunji/Nabi

Distance: 180 km | Drive Time: 7–8 hrs

Bid farewell to the high mountains and drive back towards Chaukori, a quaint hill station known for its wide views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi and Panchachuli.
