About the Trek

The Bir Billing winter trek is a captivating 3-night, 4-day adventure starting in Bir, a tranquil hill station in Himachal Pradesh’s Joginder Nagar Valley, celebrated for its lush landscapes and Buddhist monasteries. Trekkers explore Bir’s natural beauty and visit the Bhattu Monastery, gaining insight into Tibetan Buddhist culture while enjoying the serene surroundings.

A 14-kilometer trek from Bir to Billing offers breathtaking views as it traverses dense forests and meadows. Billing, located at 5000 feet, is renowned for its stunning vistas and is a prime spot for paragliding. From Billing, the trek continues to the Chinna Pass, a challenging yet rewarding segment due to the winter conditions and higher altitude, providing panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and a pristine snowy landscape.

Trekkers set up camp at Chinna Pass, where they can marvel at the clear, star-filled sky. The return trek from Chinna Pass to Bir offers a different perspective of the beautiful terrain, with a less strenuous descent allowing for a more relaxed experience and further interaction with local villages.

The trek concludes on Day 4 with a leisurely departure from Bir, where trekkers can revisit favorite spots or explore new ones before leaving. The Bir Billing Winter Trek combines physical challenge, cultural immersion, and natural beauty, making it a memorable adventure for those seeking both excitement and serenity in the Himalayan winter landscape.
