By Air: 

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, approximately. 230 km from Chopta. Taxis or buses are available for the onward journey.

By Train: 

Haridwar (205 km) or Rishikesh (230 km) are the closest railway stations. Private cabs or buses connect to Chopta.

By Road: 

Well-connected by road from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun. Scenic drives through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath lead to Chopta.

  • Early morning pickup from Haridwar (6:00 AM) or Rishikesh (7:00 AM).
  • Scenic drive via Devprayag, Srinagar, and Rudraprayag with breakfast and lunch stops.
  • Pass through pine, deodar, and rhododendron forests en route to Ukhimath/Sari.
  • Optional overnight at Sari/Ukhimath, depending on road conditions.
  • Evening tea and dinner at the accommodation.
  • Trek briefing for the next day.
  • Overnight stay: Camps/Guesthouse at Sari/Ukhimath.

  • Early morning wake-up to watch the Himalayan sunrise.
  • Begin trek to Tungnath Temple (3.5 km, 2–3 hours) through lush meadows and rhododendron forests.
  • Seek blessings at Tungnath Temple (12,073 ft), the world’s highest Shiva temple.
  • Continue a 1 km climb to Chandrashila Summit (13,000 ft) with panoramic Himalayan views.
