How to Reach- 

The Grahan Trek begins in Kasol. To reach there, you can choose from any of the following transport options- 

By Road- 

There are several private and state-run buses (Himachal Road Transport Corporation – HRTC) that operate from Delhi, Chandigarh, and other major cities to Manali, with stops at Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, you can take a local bus or taxi to Kasol. 

By Train-

The nearest major railway station is Chandigarh Railway Station, located about 296 kilometers (184 miles) away. From Chandigarh, a taxi or bus (Volvo or local HRTC) can be taken to Bhuntar or directly to Kasol. The alternative is, that Joginder Nagar Railway Station is closer (144 kilometers or 89 miles) but has limited connectivity. 

By Air- 

The closest airport to Kasol is Kullu-Manali Airport (Bhuntar Airport), located about 31 kilometers (19 miles) away. From the airport, you can either take a local HRTC bus or a cab.

Itinerary

Day 01: Kasol-Grahan (9 KM)

  • The trek to Grahan village starts from Kasol, and one would roughly take 4 hrs-5 hrs to hide a distance of 9kms.
  • During the hike, one would undergo dense forests intermittent with the sound of birds and therefore the buzzing of bees there's one element that won’t leave you all the way- Parvati river.
  • At night, have your piping hot meal round the warmth of the bonfire while taking note of the sound of silence.

Day 02: Departure

  • The next day, after having breakfast, fix for climbing down and take in the mini fresh waterfalls that one would encounter on your way back to Kasol.
  • Don’t forget to refill your bag with munchies as there aren’t many cafes on the way.
