The Kasol Winter Trek begins in Kasol. To reach there, you can choose from any of the following transport options-
By Road-
There are several private and state-run buses (Himachal Road Transport Corporation – HRTC) that operate from Delhi, Chandigarh, and other major cities to Manali, with stops at Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, you can take a local bus or taxi to Kasol. Some Volvos also drop directly to Kasol.
By Train-
The nearest major railway station is Chandigarh Railway Station, located about 296 kilometers (184 miles) away. From Chandigarh, a taxi or bus (Volvo or local HRTC) can be taken to Bhuntar or directly to Kasol. The alternative is, that Joginder Nagar Railway Station is closer (144 kilometers or 89 miles) but has limited connectivity.
By Air-
The closest airport to Kasol is Kullu-Manali Airport (Bhuntar Airport), located about 31 kilometers (19 miles) away. From the airport, you can either take a local HRTC bus or a cab.
The best time to undertake the Kasol Winter Trek is from December to February. During these months, the region is blanketed in snow, offering a true winter trekking experience with breathtaking snowy landscapes and serene vistas.
The Kasol Winter Trek is generally considered to be of moderate difficulty. This trek involves walking on snowy and sometimes steep terrain, which can be challenging.

During the Kasol Winter Trek, in Kasol, daytime temperatures in winter typically range from 5°C to 15°C, while nighttime temperatures can drop to around -5°C to 0°C. In Grahan Village and Min Thatch, temperatures can be much colder as the daytime temperatures can be -2°C to 5°C, and at night, it can plummet to -10°C to -5°C or even lower.
