By Train-

The closest railway station to Manali is Jogindernagar. Other train routes to Manali include those through Chandigarh and Ambala.

By Air- 

The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport, 10 km from Manali. Cabs and local buses are easily available from Bhuntar to Manali.

Itinerary

"Day 1 - Manali – Lama Dugh (8 km | 4-5 hours | 9898 feet)

  • Begin your day early in Manali, enjoying a hearty breakfast to fuel your trek.
  • Start your trek from the start line of the Lama Dugh trek and ascend further. 
  • As you trek deeper into the forest, the serene rustling of leaves and chirping of birds will take over the surroundings.
  • Continue the trek with a gradual but consistent climb, where you will get majestic views of the mountains of Indrasan, Deo Tibba and peaks of Bara Shigri Glacier.
  • As you arrive Lama Dugh, you’ll be welcomed with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including glimpses of the Dhauladhar range.
  • Check into your campsite and unwind.
  • Enjoy a warm dinner under the open sky, with the stars beginning to dot the evening. 
  • Have a restful night, preparing you for the adventures ahead.

"Day 2 - Lama Dugh – Rani Sui Lake – Duddu Thatch (11 km | 8-9 hours | 11154 feet)

  • Wake up to the crisp morning air at Lama Dugh, with the first rays of sunlight illuminating the surrounding peaks and have a hearty breakfast.
  • Begin the trek with a steep ascent through the remaining forested area, gradually transitioning to alpine meadows as you climb higher. 
  • The final stretch to Rani Sui Lake is a challenging climb, but the effort is rewarded as you reach the lake, nestled amidst towering mountains.
  • The crystal-clear waters of the lake, reflecting the surrounding peaks, offer a mesmerizing and tranquil sight.
  • After soaking in the beauty of Rani Sui Lake, begin your descent towards Duddu Thatch.
  • The trail descends through rugged terrain, eventually leading to gentler slopes as you approach the meadows of Duddu Thatch.
  • The campsite is set in a serene meadow, where the evening light casts a golden hue over the landscape.

Day 3 - Duddu Thatch – Khaniyal – Manali (3 km)

  • Wake up early to the charming sounds of nature at Duddu Thatch.
  • After breakfast, start your descent from Duddu Thatch, moving through rolling meadows and gentle slopes. 
  • As you descend further, the landscape transitions into dense forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron. 
  • Continue your descent until you reach Khaniyal, a quaint village perched on the slopes overlooking Manali. 
  • From here, begin the final descent towards Manali.
  • The trail from Khaniyal is well-marked and offers a gradual descent, with stunning views of the Kullu Valley and the Beas River below.
  • The trek concludes as you make your way to Manali. 
  • Celebrate the completion of the trek with your fellow trekkers and abid goodbye.
