Diverse terrain: dense oak/rhododendron forests at lower altitudes → alpine meadows (bugyals) → rocky ridges and glacial slopes near the summit → snowy terrain near Roopkund depending on season.
Stunning views: Meadows like Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal offer wide, open grassy expanses; from there you get panoramic views of Himalayan peaks — including Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and surrounding ranges.
Altitude gain & acclimatization: Since you ascend from ~7,700 ft to ~15,750 ft, it's gradual over several days — helps acclimatize but still you must be cautious of altitude sickness. Pacing, hydration, rest, and proper gear are essential.
Camping & amenities: After Day 1 (village stay), subsequent nights are mostly tents/campsites — meadows and high-altitude camps. So gear (warm clothes, sleeping bag, rain-proofing) is a must.
Mystic & historical charm: The final destination, Roopkund Lake, is known as the “Skeleton Lake” because of the human skeletons visible (when ice melts), adding an eerie yet fascinating historical/legendary element to the trek.

Experience: Glacial lake surrounded by snow-clad peaks, alpine ridges — “mystery lake” famed for skeletal remains visible under certain conditions.
Return: Descend to Patar Nachauni for overnight stay. Camping — rest after high-altitude exertion.
Route: Trek/descend back via meadows / forest / villages. Then take transport from Lohajung to return toward plains.
Stay / Travel: Depending on arrival time in Lohajung, may stay a night there or begin drive back. Many packages treat this as last trekking day + transition toward home.
