Day 2: Lohajung to Didna Village
The real walk starts now as you move from Lohajung to Didna Village. This 11-kilometer walk takes six hours through oak and red-bloomed trees. You will rise to a height of eight thousand five hundred feet by the end of the day. The path stays mild with firm climbs and some level parts as well. Sleep at Didna camp and breathe in the fresh peak air tonight.
Now you walk to the well-known Ali Bugyal grasslands for twelve kilometers in seven hours. Ali Bugyal ranks as one of the top and most grand grass fields here. You will stand at eleven thousand six hundred feet with soft green land all around. The views of Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti peak look grand from this spot. A brief 4-kilometer walk brings you to Bedni Bugyal in three hours now. At eleven thousand six hundred fifty feet, Bedni Bugyal gives you more great grass views. The path turns hard as you rise to Pathar Nachauni at thirteen thousand five hundred feet. This 6-kilometer walk takes five hours through stone ground and sharp slopes. You will leave the green grass behind and step into a dry, bare zone. The air grows thin at this point, so move slowly and stay calm. Rest at Pathar Nachauni camp and sleep well for the next big push.
This stands as the hard day in your Roopkund trek itinerary right here and now. You will walk to Roopkund Lake at fifteen thousand six hundred ninety-six feet for seventeen kilometers. The lake shows its strange bones when the ice melts in warm months here. Once you spend time at the lake, you walk back down to Bedni Bugyal.
