By Road- 

The quickest and most economical way to get to Manali. Manali is accessible by road from several locations, including Delhi (540 km), Chandigarh (305 km), Dehradun (227 km), and Ambala (370 km). 

By Train-

The closest railway station to Manali is Jogindernagar. Other train routes to Manali include those through Chandigarh and Ambala.

By Air- 

The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport, 10 km from Manali. Cabs and local buses are easily available from Bhuntar to Manali.

Itinerary

Day 1) Arrival at Base camp, trek Till ShagDugh via Solang

  • Arrival at Himtrek Base Camp, Manali, fresh n change then drive till solang after collecting the packed lunch.
  • From Solang, we'll begin our trek to shagdugh from solang and can rest for the night at Shagadugh under million dollor stars.

Day 2) Shagadugh to Patalsu Peak

  • Patalsu Peak to Shagadugh Duration 6-7 hours.
  • After early breakfast, we'll trek to Patalsu Peak will have the fun of getting lunch at that altitude of 13451 feet, then will come to Shagadugh.
  • For the night, we'll occupy shagadugh and celebrate within the meadows for our accomplishments.

Day 3) Trek from shagadugh to Solang

  • Drive to Manali and Departure. After the first breakfast, we'll start our trek to Solang, from Solang.
  • We'll drive to Manali then will depart to our destinations.

Frequently asked questions

The best time to undertake the Patalsu Peak Trek is from May to October. However, the months of July-August should be avoided due to monsoon causing heavy rains, and slippery trails. 

 

The Patalsu Peak trek is generally considered moderate to challenging in difficulty. While it's accessible to beginners with a good level of fitness, it does involve steep ascents and varying terrains, including rocky paths and forested areas. The altitude gain is significant.

The daytime temperatures during the Patalsu Peak trek can range from 10°C to 20°C, during spring (May-June), and drop to 8°C to 15°C during autumn (September-October).  However, nights are colder, especially at higher altitudes, with temperatures potentially dropping below freezing to -10 to 0°C.
