Starting from the quaint town of Manali, trekkers ascend through dense pine forests and picturesque meadows, gradually gaining altitude as they pass through charming villages like Solang and Dhundi. The route offers a diverse range of landscapes, including lush green valleys, glacial streams, and rocky outcrops. By Road- 

The quickest and most economical way to get to Manali. Manali is accessible by road from several locations, including Delhi (540 km), Chandigarh (305 km), Dehradun (227 km), and Ambala (370 km). 

By Train-

The closest railway station to Manali is Jogindernagar. Other train routes to Manali include those through Chandigarh and Ambala.

By Air- 

The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport, 10 km from Manali. Cabs and local buses are easily available from Bhuntar to Manali.

Itinerary

  • Arrive at Manali early in the morning.
  • Use the day for acclimatization and exploring Manali.
  • Spend time preparing and relaxing before the adventure starts.
  • Use the evening to bond and get to know each other better.
  • Have a good night’s sleep as the adventure awaits for you in the following days!

  • Start early in the morning for a drive from Manali to Dhundi.
  • Reach Dhundi and start the trek from here to Bakkarthatch.
  • The trail follows the true left side of the Beas River initially.
  • Cross a wooden bridge without railings, and continue the trek on the true right side of the Beas River, enjoying the greenery.
  • Cross 2-3 small streams that are tributaries of the main river.
  • Arrive at the campsite at Bakkarthatch.
  • Rest and unwind, while exploring the surroundings of the campsite.
  • Dinner will be served at the campsite.

  • Wake up, have breakfast, and start your trek for today.
  • A short but steep climb leads to a 300-meter-long moraine field.
  • Traverse a vast flat area with small boulders and streams.
  • Enjoy views of towering mountain faces and hanging glaciers.
  • Arrive at the campsite, several kilometers away from Beas Kund, at the base of Tentu Pass.
  • Spend the night at the campsite and have a good night’s sleep after a warm dinner.

  • Take the day to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.
  • Explore the surroundings, and take an acclimatization walk.
  • Reach back to your campsite and spend the night under the stars.

  • Wake up and prepare yourself for an adventurous day.
  • Today, we will go from base camp to advance camp. 
  • Transport equipment and supplies to the Advanced Base Camp, located just below Tentu Pass.
  • Everybody will practice ice climbing on the glacier.
  • After completing the activities, return to Base Camp.
  • Spend the night at Base Camp.

  • Trek from Base Camp to Advanced Base Camp.
  • Spend the night in tents at Advanced Base Camp.

  • Start your day by walking up a steep slope of hardened snow to reach Camp 1, situated halfway up the mountainside.
  • Arrive at Camp 1 in time for a packed lunch.
  • Begin camping on snow from this point onward.
  • Ascend the very steep and arduous Tentu Pass.
  • Once you reach Tentu Pass, enjoy stunning panoramic views from the top.
  • Spend the night camping in the snow.

  • Get ready for a challenging trek.
  • Embark on a demanding trek over a continuous glacier, navigating through crevasses.
  • Set up camp at Summit Camp.
  • Prepare for the summit attempt planned for the following days.
  • Overnight camping in the Summit camp.

  • We will attempt to summit at midnight.
  • After a hot cup of tea, start the summit attempt.
  • Reach the summit to enjoy panoramic views of the Dhauladhar, Pir Panjal, and Greater Himalayan Ranges.
  • After the summit, descend back to Camp 1.

  • Wake up and pack up all gear from Camp 1.
  • Trek down to Base Camp.
  • Spend the night in tents at Base Camp.

  • Take the day to rest and recover from the trek.
  • Prepare and pack all gear for the return trek to Dhundi

  • Begin the trek back to Dhundi.
  • Meet the vehicles in Dhundi for the drive back to Manali.
  • Arrive in Manali and bid farewell to fellow trekkers.

Allocate an extra day for the summit attempt if weather conditions prevent reaching the summit on the initially planned day.
