The Pin Bhaba trek begins in the quaint little Himalayan village of Kafnu (2,400 metres) in the Kinnaur Valley, climbs to a height of 4,915 metres, and then descends the other side to a small village in Spiti called Mudh (3,810 metres). The route passes through some of the most remote and off-beat areas of the region, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.

How to Reach Basecamp?

Shimla is the meeting point for the trek. You can reach Shimla by the following means-

By Air: The closest airport is Jubbarhatti, which is around 23 kilometres from the town. From Jubbarhatti, there are frequent flights to Chandigarh and Delhi. To get to Shimla, you can easily take a taxi from the airport.

By Road: Shimla is connected to the major cities in North India by a number of bus services, including those provided by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation and by private operators. Manali is 260 kilometres away, Chandigarh is 117 kilometres away, and Delhi is 343 kilometres away. You can board an overnight luxury air-conditioned bus from ISBT Kashmiri Gate if you’re travelling from Delhi.

By Train: Shimla’s small train station, which connects to Kalka through a narrow gauge rail line, is barely one kilometre from the town’s heart. The 96-kilometre journey between Kalka and Shimla can be covered by the world-famous Shimla toy train in roughly 7 hours. The closest rail hub is Kalka, which has regular train service to Chandigarh and Delhi. Take the Kalka Shatabdi, which travels via Chandigarh from New Delhi Railway Station to Kalka Railway Station.

Day 1: Shimla to Kafnu

You shall meet this revitalising day at the specified location in Shimla by 7:00 AM.

Embark aboard a car and head to Kafnu. Take pleasure in the lengthy trip through Rampur and Narkanda.

Shimla to Kafnu is 208 km which is a 7-8 hour long picturesque journey.

The lovely hamlet of Kafnu is located in Kinnaur's Bhaba Valley.

Check into the hotel there for an overnight stay before starting your Bhaba Valley trip the following day.

Day 2: Trek form Kafnu to Mulling

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise. After a delicious breakfast, set out on the breathtaking Bhaba pass trek route. Wander through apple orchards and a straightforward section of forest. You may reach Mullingmeadows in about 6 hours on an adventure of moderate difficulty. Once there, enjoy the abundance of natural beauty. You'll spend the night sleeping in tents.

Day 3: Trek from Mulling to Kara

Prepare yourself for some enjoyable river crossings on this fascinating day of the Bhaba Pass Trek, where you will need to navigate natural bridges.

The vivid terrain consists of a 3.3 km moderate ascent, a 1.5 km strong elevation, and a final 1.2 km levelling out.

You'll spend most of your time on the trek hiking across expansive grasslands, which will add to the breathtaking views you'll encounter along the way.

Take in the splendour of the colourful alpine blooms. You can also encounter some shepherds who live nearby and wear traditional attire.

After an upward hike, you will reach Kara Meadow.

Once there, take in the breathtaking views of the peaks that form the border between Kinnaur and Spiti.

You'll be sleeping in tents tonight.

Day 4: Trek from Kara to Phustirang

Set out from Kara and take pleasure in the trek to Phustirang.

Start your trek for today early to go across the river before it becomes too rapid.

The Phutsirang River will be on your right as you move along the moraine. The trail has brook crossings in addition to debris.

Witness the impressive Hansbeshan Peak, which towers at 5,840 metres.

In the early evening, arrive at the campsite, and then relax.

You'll be spending the night in tents.

Day 5: Pushtirang to Mangrungse via Bhaba Pass

One of the most magnificent parts of the voyage so far is today's journey.

Green meadows give way to Spiti's freezing deserts in a sudden change in scenery.

The Pin Bhaba Pass trek from Phutsirang to Mangrungse will take around 9 hours and cover a distance of 10.9 kilometres.

You must ascend slowly for more than 3 kilometres to reach the pass, cross a river, and then gently descend via moraine and gravel to reach the camp.

Spend the night in camps.

Day 6: Mangrungse to Mudh/Kaza

Today marks the last day of your adventure.

Start the day with vigour and passion because it is the last and longest leg of the journey.

On this day, it takes 7 hours and 16.3 kilometres to trek from Mangrungse to Mudh.

You will encounter a wooden bridge that will let you cross a river and then connect to a level road after going past the Bara boulder.

One of the highlights of the walk will be the expansive views of the red-soil-rich Mudh (3810 m) settlement.

During this portion of the tour, you'll really experience the ethnicity and charm of the locals.

You can cross the Pin River on a suspension bridge.

After there, there is a brief ascent to Spiti's Mudh settlement.

The next step is for you to get in your cars and go to Kaza.

Spend your night in kaza at our homestay. This brings an end to your journey.

Day 7: Departure from Kaza

Transportation from kaza to Manali is not included. Kindly arrange your transport accordingly.

The Rohtang Pass must be crossed to get from Kaza (3800 metres) back to Manali.

Enjoy a warm-hearted nine-hour journey and get home with a tonne of beautiful memories.

If you have extra time, you can make the hike take 8 days and save one day for exploring the Mudh hamlet on the return leg of your journey.
