Day 01: Dharamkot to Triund Top Trek

The trek begins from McLeod Ganj, which is a small town situated in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The town is famous for its Tibetan culture and is the home of the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama. The trek starts early in the morning, and the first day involves a steep climb of 9 km to reach Triund. The trail passes through dense forests of oak and rhododendron, which provide a refreshing and soothing environment. The trail is well-marked, and trekkers can enjoy the scenic views of the Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar range. The trek takes around 4-5 hours to reach Triund, which is a beautiful meadow situated at an altitude of 2,875 metres. Trekkers can set up their camps at Triund and enjoy the sunset over the mountains.

Day 02: Trek from Triund Top to Laka Got

The second day of the trek is an exciting journey that takes you on a moderate climb of 6 km from Triund to Laka Got. This leg of the trek offers an incredible experience as you pass through some of the most beautiful meadows and forests. Along the way, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. As you make your way towards Laka Got, you will come across a diverse range of flora and fauna that adds to the charm of the trek. The path is dotted with rhododendrons, oak trees, and cedar trees, which provide a refreshing ambiance and a pleasant aroma. You may also spot some of the local wildlife such as Himalayan langurs, wild goats, and musk deer. Laka Got is a picturesque camping site that is situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters. This is a popular destination among trekkers who want to experience the thrill of camping in the mountains. The site offers a stunning view of the surrounding peaks, including Indrahar Pass, Mun Peak, and Moon Peak. At Laka Got, trekkers can set up their camps and spend the night under the stars. As you sit around the campfire, you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and take in the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Day 03: Trek from Laka to Indrahar Pass Via Lahesh Cave and back to Laka

The third day of the trek is the most challenging and exciting. Trekkers have to wake up early in the morning and start the trek to Indrahar Pass, which is situated at an altitude of 4,342 metres. The trail is steep and challenging, and it takes around 6-7 hours to reach the pass. However, the pass offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks, and trekkers can spend some time at the pass and take in the views. After spending some time at the pass, trekkers start the descent towards Laka Got. The descent is equally challenging as the climb, and trekkers need to be careful while trekking down. Trekkers reach Laka Got by evening and set up their camps for the night.

Day 04: Trek from Laka Got and back to Dharamkot

The fourth and the last day of the trek involves a moderate climb of 12 km from Laka Got to McLeod Ganj. The trail passes through the charming village of Chamba, which is known for its ancient temples and traditional handicrafts. Trekkers can take a break at the village and explore the surroundings. The trek takes around 5-6 hours to reach McLeodGanj, and trekkers can end their trek by the afternoon. Triund trek is a perfect blend of scenic beauty and adventure. The trek provides an opportunity to explore the beauty of nature and witness the stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. The trek requires a moderate level of fitness and is suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers.
