Yes, prior motorcycle riding experience is strongly recommended. You must hold a valid driving license. While you don't need to be an expert, comfort with riding on uneven, mountain, and off-road terrain is essential. Our Team Leader and Bike Marshall are always on hand to support and guide you through technical sections.
All participants receive a Royal Enfield Himalayan — either the 411cc or 450cc variant — for the entire 9-day duration. These bikes are purpose-built for Himalayan terrain, offering excellent torque, ground clearance, and reliability on high-altitude roads.
Our backup vehicle carries oxygen cylinders and a full First Aid kit at all times. Our Trip Leader is trained in high-altitude first response. If a participant experiences acute mountain sickness, the team will administer first aid and, if necessary, arrange an immediate descent to a lower altitude. We prioritize safety above all else.
A reasonable level of physical fitness is important. While you'll spend most of the journey on the bike, high-altitude camping at Chandratal (14,100 ft) and riding at 15,000+ ft passes can cause altitude sickness in some individuals. No intense trekking is required, but you should be free from serious cardiac or respiratory conditions. Acclimatization days are built into the itinerary.
Yes, you can join on your own motorcycle. Please note that fuel costs will be excluded from the package for own-bike participants. A security deposit is not applicable in this case, but you are still responsible for any damage to your vehicle and must carry all required permits.
The booking amount is completely non-refundable and non-transferable to other travelers. If you leave the expedition mid-route, no refund will be provided for unused accommodation, meals, or services. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive personal travel insurance before booking.
All group members must carry a valid government-issued photo ID proof. A valid driving license is mandatory for all riders — this is a legal requirement on Indian roads. International travelers must carry their passport and will be subject to an additional charge of ₹6,000. Inner Line Permits are handled by HimTrek and are included in the package.
Buffet Breakfast and Dinner are included from Day 1 dinner through Day 9 breakfast. Lunches, snacks, beverages (alcoholic or packaged), and personal dining choices outside the itinerary are at your own expense. We recommend budgeting approximately ₹300–500 per person per day for lunches on the road.
