Itinerary
Start your journey early morning from Dehradun with a scenic 3-hour drive covering approximately 90 km to reach Pantwari village (7,200 ft), the trek's starting point.
After a brief orientation and breakfast at the village, begin your trek through dense oak and rhododendron forests. The 5 km trail gradually ascends through beautiful meadows and forest clearings, offering glimpses of the surrounding peaks.
After 3-5 hours of moderate trekking, reach the Nag Tibba base camp situated at around 8,700 ft. Set up camp in the clearing surrounded by tall deodar trees.
Enjoy hot evening snacks while watching the sunset paint the sky in brilliant hues. End the day with a warm dinner around the campfire under a star-studded sky.
Wake up before dawn for an early morning summit push. After a light breakfast, begin the final 2 km ascent to Nag Tibba peak at 9,915 ft.
The trail becomes steeper but rewards you with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Himalayan ranges including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Srikanth, and Gangotri peaks.
On clear days, you can even spot the Doon valley and Mussoorie. Spend time at the summit soaking in the panoramic vistas and visiting the small temple dedicated to Nag Devta.
Begin your descent back to base camp for a hearty brunch before continuing down to Pantwari village. The return trek takes approximately 4-5 hours.
Board your vehicle for the drive back to Dehradun, arriving by evening with memories of an incredible Himalayan adventure.
