Yes. Leh sits at 3,524m and several points on this tour exceed 5,800m. Day 1 is intentionally reserved for acclimatisation. It is advisable to carry Diamox after consulting your doctor, stay well-hydrated, avoid alcohol for the first 48 hours, and rest adequately.
